The castle was built by William the Conqueror around 1060 to serve as his residential palace. Located in the town centre, it is home to the Normandy Museum and the Fine Arts museum. Take a stroll along the ramparts from where you will enjoy splendid views of the town. The ducal castle is one of the largest fortified enclosures in Europe.

Saint Theresa's Basilica in Lisieux

The basilica in Lisieux is France's second most popular pilgrimage destination after Lourdes. The basilica was erected in honour of Saint Theresa, who had lived in Lisieux. Its architectural design was inspired by the Sacré Coeur of Montmartre in Paris.
