Eglise Saint-Nicolas

CAEN

Construction of the church of Saint-Nicolas, circa 1083, was a direct consequence of the founding of the Men's Abbey by William the Conqueror. Its pure simplicity - architectural features offering the only form of decoration - and its exceptional brightness, render the church of Saint-Nicolas one of the most valuable illustrations of Normandy's religious Romanesque architecture. The interior is closed to the public.
