On the site of the former Saint-Rémy-sur-Orne iron ore mine, the "Fosses d'Enfer" museum - Normandy's Geological Resource Centre, offers and insight into the story of the Earth's formation and evolution... Come and retrace some 650 million years of history, thanks to a unique chronological presentation of the key geological periods and of Normandy's typical minerals; learn of the life and the work of Saint-Rémy's miners who, for over a century, strove to extract Normandy's finest iron ore. Unaccompanied or guided tour all year round by appointment. Unaccompanied visit lasts 1h30.
