Plan de Rome

CAEN

At the University of Caen, just a stone's throw from the castle, the Plan of Rome is a unique scale model measuring approximately 70m2 and created by the Norman architect Paul Bigot from 1900 to 1940. Listed as a historic monument, it represents Ancient Rome during the 4th century AD, under Constantine and marks the starting point of a virtual reproduction. Guided tours on booking : virtual scale model in stereoscopy, Paul Bigot's scale model with audiovisual show (20 min). Visit lasts : 1 hour.
