Musée Baron Gérard
BAYEUX
The Hôtel du Doyen is the former living quarters of the dean of the cathedral chapter, the second most important dignitary within the diocese after the bishop. Today, it aims at developing and promoting Bayeux's historical heritage and houses the Baron Gérard museum, presenting artistic and historical collections (paintings by illustrious and lesser-known French painters from neoclassicism to impressionism, porcelain and lace, archaeology) by means of temporary exhibitions. The entry fee to the Bayeux Tapestry museum offers free access to the Baron Gérard museum.
