Calvados is home to 8 race courses: from Deauville la Touques, the most prestigious, to Dozulé, the most rural, via Caen, the most urban... each and every one of them with its own advantages.

A few figures on horse racing in Calvados:

- 128 meetings organised all year round. (for example, in order to extend  its racing season, the Deauville la Touques race course is equipped, since 2003, with a fibresand track, offering constant quality in all weather conditions)

- 107 PMU points

- 85 million Euros at stake, i.e. half  of the total Lower Normandy figure.

The race course stretches over 75 hectares, including 20 hectares of track, alongside the banks of the River Touques.
hippodrome de Deauville Clairefontaine 3 tracks:
- straight: 1 600m inside to the left
- round outside track: 2,200m, inside to the right
- inside round track: 2,000m, inside to the right.

Capacity: 10,000 spectators, including 2,000 in the stands.
